Yes there are a number of programs that will allow you to recover lost data even after reformatting, you can download them, or buy the programs, Just try typing it in the search bar and see what comes up.Just watch out because I have used them and no problems but they can take a long time if you have a large disk, i spent 4 days running the program, but it worked.
Good luck

The only way to get your files back is with an UN FORMAT program.
Try searching the Internet for one.
One way to avoid this in the future is to either regally back up you files to a DVD or have an external HD the same capacity/size as the one in you PC and use something like CASPER XP to clone you drive to it. So if you internal HD goes down it's just a few cables and screws out with the old in with the new and onwards.
Its seems complicated but it's not and it's a dam-sight faster
that reinstalling
Personally I use a combination of the two Data to DVD/CD and a clone of the HD with all my software on.

Hello,
(ANS) The answer is yes! you can attempt to recover the data by using a data recovery program such as the following:-
PC Inspector file recovery program (pci_filerecovery.exe)
goto the following website to download a free copy:-http://www.snapfiles.com > freeware section, system utilities, data recovery tools.
Hope that helps?
Kind Regards Ivan
