Does anyone know of good data recovery software?






I accidentally completely erased everything from my computer. I tried to do a system restore and restored it to factory settings. It is a compaq presario c500. I came across a product called search and recover, but I do not know if this is what I need. I also came across a product online called ontrack data recovery which sounds ok, but costs an arm and a leg. Is there anything out there that can help me get all my important information back?
What I did was a system recovery and not a system restore. Ant ideas?

  1. It’s called make backups or suffer the consequences.

  2. This works very well and offer a free trial, I am not sure if you have to buy it to get your files, but even still, it is worth it if you can get your “important” data. You risk losing your data for good if you try too many things. I use this program regularly for clients.
