  1. Listen to Aeristes. He’s right. Spybot Search and Destroy will take care of your spyware problems.
However, I prefer Avast Antivirus. It’s lighter on system resources and can do a “boot scan” which will scan your hard drive before Windows loads. In other words, it scans before the viruses are loaded and running.

  2. Spybot S&D – its safe and free, works wonders on spyware.
AVG free – Free Anti Virus.
CCleaner – It cleans out the crap from the registry and will help make you computer faster, while deleting all of your browser data and cookies.
Google each of them download and run em. Your computer should run like new.

this is a free registry cleaner.http://Avast.com
This is an anti virus.Free also.
    Good Luck….

  4. Go to http://www.clamwin.com. Download the windows version of Clam VM, a free and open source program which I use to secure my Ubuntu computer. Don’t worry, it’s totally safe and free.

  5. I have the exact same message on my laptop, word for word. It is my desktop. Also, my cd drive doesn’t work, either. Sounds like a trojan infection.

  6. Use Malwarebyteshttp://malwarebytes.org/
Just download the free version, install and run a scan. Then have it remove the infected files it finds.

  7. Scan your computer using a Anti-virus site, such as Mcafee.

  8. You could try going to house call:http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
This will clean up your spyware and virus’s

  9. that pop up is a virus itself trying to install itself you can run Embarq online scanner for free at Embarq.com I get this pop up all the time when its a fake link that Im downloading from.

  10. You could get a trial of norten and then get rid of the virus.
    Also
I think the wall paper was changed by the virus.

  11. You should try using MSCONFIG in Windows XP to disable some of the unnecessary programs that automatically load on start-up. Disabling these programs will help your computer boot faster and crash less.
    1. In Windows XP, go to Start > Run
    2. Type MSCONFIG in the “Open:” box and then either press enter on your keyboard or click on the OK button.
    3. This launches Microsoft’s System Configuration Utility. Click on the Startup tab (the tab at the far right).
    4. This takes you to a page with a list of “startup items.” Startup items are programs that are automatically loaded every time you turn on your computer. Some startup programs are absolutely necessary, others are simply a waste of RAM.
Remember, disable only those programs that you recognize and don’t need to have running all the time. When in doubt, leave it on.
    5. Click on the OK button.
    6. A message will pop up telling you that you must restart your computer before these changes will take effect. Click on “Yes” and your computer will automatically reboot.
    7. That’s it! Your computer should now boot faster and crash less.
And you should also update our Antivirus software and run a virus scan,
