Ohio Forensic Guide

hey does anyone know if there is any good web sites where i can get source code for forensic software. eg something that tells you all the devices plugged into a pc. or something which reads files from the registry and outputs them as a gui interface.
something like encase or forensic toolkit etc i need to analyse the source code as part of a project and am having a hard time finding anything to analyse.
