THE TROUBLE IS, I AM NOT AN AMERICAN! Should I rise above it all/delete OR retain in case ever valuable for forensics?
Even if you’re American, does it really matter what an insignificant jerk has to write or say?
You see the thrill in sending something inflammatory, is to rouse the negative emotions of the recepient.
We all do this at some stage of our life; provoking someone, so as to elicit a rash response.
Mature people would have only done this, when they were kids. It’s one of those things kids are prone to doing, part of growing up, perhaps. But there are others, like your ‘friend’ here, who never grow out of this boorish behaviour.
These people crave for attention and their very aim, is to disrupt the other party’s mood. By responding, you play directly into their hands, giving attention to their knavish tricks.
Ignorance is bliss, what or where is the purpose in riling/teasing someone, if they aren’t going to be affected or bothered by it?
So do that, don’t bother, just laugh it off as a childish prank from someone who can never grow up. Someone, who is living in some outpost of tyranny or struggling with life, whose only thrill from the throes of their daily struggle, is to take potshots at Americans (1st world nations). Americans (or Canadians, Brits, Dutch etc) who live in a free, wealthy and democratic country as opposed to them.
You get all sorts of people on the net, you cannot convince or change all (or many) of them. Behind a computer, they display bravado, which they can only dream of doing in real life.
So take care, have a laugh at the foolishness of people like him, and get on with your life, doing what you normally do.

Save the email. Email him back, tell him you’re not an American (if you were, believe me, you’d be a lot more offended.)
He is obviously a fool, and while I don’t know why he sent you this email, I recommend you just tell him off and forget about it. Don’t worry about defending your views or anything like that. Make it simple. It’s obvious he’s not that smart.

Don’t respond because that’s what the sender wants. The sender wants to upset you. Find other people to associate with.
Crazy, i have seen some mean things said on here, but that is just stupid.
I honsetly would just ignore it, but i keep the email,in case further contact is made or harrasment begins.
