I Have No Idea What To Major In In College!?
i’m a sophomore in highschool, and although it is a bit too early to worry about college, it’s definitely on my mind. i took the psat in october and only got a 1380 on it. but i have a pretty high average [91.06%]..so i’m not stupid lol.
im “majoring” in vocal music right now in my highschool, but deep down inside, i know that i don’t want to pursue music as a career, but rather as a side hobby that i love doing.
i’m interested in psychology, but with the economy, it’ll be really hard to make it as a trained psychologist.
i love forensic science though. i love finding out why things happened, and how things happened. next year, i’m taking forensics as my science class.
i also am really good with computers and i like building things, putting things together. i like designing things also. [i dont mean like clothes but rather creating things]. maybe interior/graphic designing? im so confused. lol
does anyone have any suggestions on possible majors that would be good for.. i’m so undecided and it seems as though everyone around me has an idea of what they want to be when they get older, but me.
any advice?
Honestly, unless you want to follow a specific career path, i.e. Medicine, engineering, etc, you should study something that you enjoy. The great thing about college is that it is time for you to figure yourself out and what you are interested in. Every college has prerequisites you have to take, for example: 2 science classes, english, foreign language, etc. Take prerequisites that interest you. Sometimes what you major in is never what you career path you follow in the real world. I went to a very prestigious university- I have to tell you, anytime I interviewed for a job, interviewers were always impressed with what school I went to. They never mentioned my major. Plus, at 15, you don’t need to know what you want to do with your life. Just try to get into the best school that you can!
