I Want To Get Law Enforcement Jobs, Would Majoring In Forensic Psychology Help? ?
i want to get jobs thats related to like police such as csi
im very interested in psychology and crimes, so i though
forensic psychology would be good for me to major. but i did
some research on internet and it said forensic science is
better major.
which is more benefitial, majoring in forensic psychology or
forensic science? Also would majoring in those majors get me
into jobs like crime investigator?
I used to work for a police department. It depends on what you want to do. If you want to be a street cop, then a forensic science degree is over kill. If you’re into CSI stuff, then yes it will help. It won’t matter what you get, don’t decide on what the internet tells you. What are you going to do if you get a degree in Forensic Psychology, spend all that money, find out it is better than the forensic science, but then find out you don’t like it at all? Go with your instinct.
Typically, getting a crime investigator job requires you to already have experience. If you still want a degree, get one, then work for a police or sheriff department, and get some experience.
Overall if you’re not sure what degree what you want, get a degree in “Criminal Justice.” That will help you no matter what you want to do in law enforcement. Hit me up if you have any questions.
Forensic science with a minor in criminal justice.
