I’m A Sophomore In High School And I Was Wondering Which Colleges Have Good Forensics Programs?
I want to be a forensics scientist when i “grow up” and i don’t know which schools have good forensics programs, so that i could possibly already have a job lined up when i’m done with classes instead of having to wait a long time.
I would greatly appreciate any help you could offer me.
Thanks,
M&M
You should try for one that has their forensic science program run in conjunction with a real forensic lab. Or a program run in conjunction with the science department. Most labs will want to see chemistry courses in your background. If the program is under the criminal justice department, make sure they still have the science courses. The more hands-on the program has the better. There are great colleges in forensic science but no lab work at all. That will be to your disadvantage when you are looking for a job.

Virginia Commonwealth University has their Masters Program in conjunction with the Virginia Dept of Forensic Science. They only take a few students every year at the program but a lot of the hires come from this program.
UT for sure. Check with your state university, they can point you in the right direction. Either you can get the degree at their school or the basics can be taught and you can transfer to a different school. This can save you money. Rick.
UT Knoxville…plus, they’ve got the infamous “Body Farm”
Ut Knoxville, they are really great
my sister’s friend is studying forensics at mercuhurst, in PA
Texas Tech
Newberry College
It’s a small school but the forensics program there is one of the best in the nation!
