Check with your state university, they can point you in the right direction. Either you can get the degree at their school or the basics can be taught and you can transfer to a different school. Or a program run in conjunction with the science department. Most labs will want to see chemistry courses in your background. If the program is under the criminal justice department, make sure they still have the science courses. The more hands-on the program has the better. There are great colleges in forensic science but no lab work at all. That will be to your disadvantage when you are looking for a job.
