  1. Yes
You can easily get a job working for the police, FBI and maybe even the CIA.

I was about to get a B.S. Computer Forensics degree called Information Security and Forensics at Rochester Institute of Technology. I’m a HS senior btw. Instead, I looked at many job positions and I realized that if you’re doing computer forensics, you’ll most likely end up a system administrator. Who wants that boring job? I certainly didn’t, so I chose to minor (5 years B.S.) in software engineering instead. Programming goes down -4% every year according to the bureau of labor statistics and other salary websites. Software engineering and analysis goes up +40% every year.

If you like software, I think that you’re assured a job with a future in this field. Sticking to computer forensics would be amazing and once I wanted to do that so I could be the best hacker around like I was at my school. But the realm of computer crime is so limited compared to the amazing wonders that one can make directing a development team. Hopefully I’ll graduate with flying colors, and this will assure my career to make and manage amazing software systems and applications, who knows I might even become the next bill gates for making a program no one ever thought of making!

So no, I would say there is no future in that field unless you want to be an operations analyst or a system administrator. Or, you could do secure coding; but lets face it working at the NSA or the DoD is awesome but unlikely.
