I am a HS Junior in Michigan and currently have a 3.738 GPA (unweighted) according to U of M’s standards for calculation, have had 4 family members become U of M alumni, ACT score 31 composite, PSAT score of 138 (71 reading, 67 math), am in a selective magnet school (Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center), take AP Calc AB, AP Biology, Physics B/C, AP Psychology, IB Business and Org., IB English 11, and have taken Honors Biology, Honors Earth Science, Honors Physics, Honors Chemistry, Advanced Algebra, FST (Funtions, Stats, and Trig), Honors American History, Ancient World History, European History, Band, Wind Ensemble (selective honors band), French II and III, Honors English 9 & 10, Honors Econ (took AP Macroeconomics exam and got a 4), Honors Gov’t, Forensics I (acting class) and Debate I.
For extracurriculars I have done Marching band for a year, competed on the school debate team for 2 years (went to states, got to quarterfinals, have other awards), played at Carnegie hall with Wind Ensemble, and am now currently on KAMSC’s research team, where I will compete in a regional Intel ISEF competition, and will be going to an engineering competition in February. I have worked in two pop can drives for band for 5 hours each, two times helping the March of Dimes for 5 hours each, and have worked on replacing windows in peoples’ homes for 8 hours. I have worked on a council to get a local politician elected for state house, and have worked in parades for another state politician.
Last summer I attended the Michigan Math and Summer Science Program at the University of Michigan for 4 weeks, and the summer before that I went to the Debate Classic program at U of M for 4 weeks. For this summer I am applying to the Research Science Institute at MIT and the Summer Science Academy at U of M.
I have been suspended for 5 days for lifting a password off of a computer. No damage was done, I had no malicious intent; I even helped then plug the hole. I simply wanted to see what I could do.

i’m a sophomore in highschool, and although it is a bit too early to worry about college, it’s definitely on my mind. i took the psat in october and only got a 1380 on it. but i have a pretty high average [91.06%]..so i’m not stupid lol.
im “majoring” in vocal music right now in my highschool, but deep down inside, i know that i don’t want to pursue music as a career, but rather as a side hobby that i love doing.
i’m interested in psychology, but with the economy, it’ll be really hard to make it as a trained psychologist.
i love forensic science though. i love finding out why things happened, and how things happened. next year, i’m taking forensics as my science class.
i also am really good with computers and i like building things, putting things together. i like designing things also. [i dont mean like clothes but rather creating things]. maybe interior/graphic designing? im so confused. lol
does anyone have any suggestions on possible majors that would be good for.. i’m so undecided and it seems as though everyone around me has an idea of what they want to be when they get older, but me.
any advice?

I am kind of confused of what I want to do with my life in the future. Somehow I feel like I am not achieving what I wanted to do when I was younger be a veterinarian or a nurse. When I first started college, I went to study nursing but I found out it was harder for me to grasp the information on the first semester so I change my major to computers. Somedays it can be interesting and somedays it can be dull. But I like the web and graphics design. I want to be a webmaster and continue my education towards forensics with computers. So what should I do should I continue my education with computers and take those biology classes to see if it is right for me, I think I want to become a veterinarian or be in forensics? I am suppose to be transferring to a university after 2007. Please if you are mature and could help me with my decision I would appreciate it. I also do love animals but I don’t think I’ll be cut out for surgery

My goals after college are to try and get in the FBI. I originally wanted a double major in psychology and criminology but Duquesne does not offer crim. Waynesburg has a huge Criminal Justice Program and looks to be really good. They also have psych and Computer Sciences and Computer Forensics, which would also be something I’d like to take and would really benefit me. Duquesne has a Computer Science major as well. I know Duquesne is a very good school but what about Waynesburg? Is the program really as good as it looks? I would love to go there seeing as I am familiar with the campus when I took a trip with my church. I do really love Pittsburgh though too. What would be best for me? Any other reccomendations school wise, or classes I should take?

I want to go to college to be a Computer Forensics major. How many years of college would that take? Can you take that at a community college or a technical school? Are there any school in the GA/NC area that provides classes for this?

well ne ways my bf and i go to the same school.upcoming tests and quizzes:that is me:keep us up until the wee hours and we talk on the phone less and less as finals approach.he is stressed out with one of his computer class:has a compuer science and digital forensics major-and is acting so distant more and more and more.i know it is nerve wrecking with finals and deadlines coming up but at the same time i am stressed out but not as much as he is.besides that today i said bye to him with a kiss and he gave me this hug which put me in a sort of angry mood.he has this class which i swear that it takes a lot of his time and these 5 or 6 computer programs that he has to write and to make them work properly:it is an all or nothing thing.neways i went and got breakfast since he said that he will think about breakfast but he never called:we get out from our class at the same time today:and i call him and he tells me that from now on until the end of this semester he doesnt need ne distractions
