I deleted a file by mistake today and a couple of free trials I downloaded find it but dont let me recover it unless I buy the software. It is too expensive for me right now, but I dont want to lose my file

Anyone knows is there any free data recovery software available online that can retrieve my deleted file?

I’m able to see that my computer recognizes that the drive is plugged in, but Windows can’t see it, nor can any data recovery programs for Vista, so Ubuntu is my only other option.

My friend performed a system restore on her computer & a lot of her important files were lost. She tried a program called “UNDELETE” by Paretologic & it found the lost files, but then wanted her to pay $65 for her to actually restore the lost files. It didn’t say anything about having to pay until that point. I’m hoping there might be some out there that are truly free & if so, which ones?

I have a Seagate 500 GB/7200rpm something or other hard drive that suffered trauma when the Macbook it was in hit the ground. The drive is like 2 years old. I sent it to Data Recovery Labs and they quoted $1690 to recover the data. Surely there must be an alternative that *normal* people can afford? Any tips?
What do you mean by “freezing it”?
But can this be done if the dead computer can’t even be booted?

I am looking for a data recovery software for memory cards? Does anyone know any free software? I have searched softpedia, majorgeeks, zdnet and cnet. All of them are serving only demo version. And demo version can’t save the files.

hello, I am very interested in Forensics and will pursue that career path in college but I’d like to hear from people who actually do this stuff. do you like your job? what do you do in Forensics? what does it take to be in the Forensics field? and finally should i go into Forensics?

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Biology and am looking to get into the Forensics field. I have applied with the FDLE, but was wondering if there would be work available with Police or Sheriff’s depts. Any help out there would be appreciated.
