what is a great FREE data recovery program?






I messed up and lost all my files – I want to get them back easy and free – please help

    There are 2 free programs I can think of which might help you, PC Inspector File Recovery and Recuva. Both programs can be downloaded from

    Install one or both programs on to a hard drive other than the one you want to recover data from. You need to install them on another hard drive because, if you install the programs on the hard drive which stores the data, there is a good chance the program files will write over the very data you are trying to recover. Be warn that you might not be able to recover all of your lost files.

    To prevent this from happening again, you should considering a backup program. Windows XP and Vista both have a backup program built-in. Otherwise, you can use the free edition of SyncBack (http://www.2brightsparks.com/freeware/freeware-hub.html)
