Where Can I Buy Lots Of Used Hard Drives, Un-formatted…?






I’m studying Computer Forensics and would like to use them for research purposes, i’ve looked on eBay, not too many on there, anyone know any specialist sites, who sell used PC parts ….??

  1. Aside from eBay I don’t know of any website that sells these. Seriously though, your best bet will be to find a high school vocational / tech center in your town. There are always students working on computers there and it’s a great place to find old hardware. I used to visit one in my old town and at any given time they had 10-20 unused hard drives laying around.

  2. If you’re studying computer forensics, a formatted hard drive shouldn’t be a problem.
    You’ll have a hard time finding unformatted, used drives anywhere. There’s a huge liability factor in reselling “dirty” hard drives. If it’s a private seller, most of them wouldn’t be stupid enough to sell you a dirty hard drive.
    Although, there are some morons out there… Look on Craigslist in the free section. I live in Minneapolis, and there’s always free computer crap on there.

  3. i know that some goodwills have a computer department where you can buy used stuff and im sure they had used hard drives
